Air Namibia Baggage Allowances

 

Luggage Allowances and Free Luggage
We allow per passenger, 20 kg for Economy Class and 30 kg for Business Class passengers. Infants not occupying a seat are entitled to a free baggage allowance of 10 kg.

Hand Luggage
In Economy Class one piece of hand luggage not exceeding (55x40x20 cm) or 7 kg is allowed.
In Business Class each passenger is only allowed one piece of hand luggage (except ex LGW). This is imposed by the airport authority for security reason.

At certain International Airports a Luggage frame is available to check the admissible size of hand luggage. Passengers that are in possession of oversized luggage are requested to check in these luggage items at the check in counters. Please check your hand luggage size beforehand, and if necessary check it in with your other luggage.

Special Luggage
AIR NAMIBIA offers it passengers the transport of one Golf-bag of up to 15 kg, or one rifle case for hunters not exceeding 10 kg. We kindly request our passengers to notify us of any Special Luggage that they will carry.

Lost Luggage
In the unlikely event that your luggage should not reach its intended destination, report this immediately at the "Lost & Found" counter of your destination airport.

 

Sporting Equipment Excess Baggage Rate:

   

Scuba Diving Equipment

 

May be included in the free baggage allowance.

Charge normal excess baggage rate, if exceeds the free baggage allowance



Snow Skiing & water Skiing Equipment

 

 

Even if included in the free baggage allowance, a special charge equal to 5kg of the applicable excess baggage rate applies per set. If exceeds free baggage allowance, charge normal excess baggage rate PLUS above special charge


Paddle Skis & Canoes

 

 

Even if included in the free baggage allowance, a special charge equal to 5kg of the applicable excess baggage rate applies per set. If exceeds free baggage allowance, charge normal excess baggage rate PLUS above special charge


Wind Surfer & Surfing Equipment

 

May not be included in the free baggage allowance. A special charge equal to 10kg of the applicable excess baggage rate applies per windsurfer


Bicycles

 

May not be included in the free baggage allowance. A special charge equal to 5kg of the applicable excess baggage rate applies per windsurfer


Fishing Equipment

 

May be included in the free baggage allowance.

Charge normal excess baggage rate, if exceeds the free baggage allowance



Golfing Equipment

 

 

One set of golfing equipment includes one golf-bag and one pair of golf shoes not exceeding 15kg will be accepted free-of-charge. Apply normal excess rates for golfing equipment in excess of 15kg


Hunting Equipment and Trophies

 

 

 

Per license holder, an additional free baggage allowance of 10kg applies over and above the normal baggage allowance for the class of service paid.

Note: The license has top be produced at check-in

Vaulting Poles

 

May be included in the free baggage allowance.

A special charge equal to 5kg of the applicable excess baggage rate applies.



Paragliding Equipment

 

May be included in the free baggage allowance.

Charge normal excess baggage rate, if exceeds the free baggage allowance



Hang-gliding Equipment

 

 

Even if included in the free baggage allowance, a special charge equal to 5kg of the applicable excess baggage rate applies per set. If exceeds free baggage allowance, charge normal excess baggage rate PLUS above special charge


Hiking Equipment

 

May be included in the free baggage allowance.

Charge normal excess baggage rate, if exceeds the free baggage allowance



Hockey Equipment

 

Excess weight to be included in the free baggage allowance.

A special charge equal to 5kg of the applicable excess baggage rate applies.

 Use of electronic appliances on board:

For safety reasons the use of the following electronic appliances are not permitted during flights onboard AIR NAMIBIA.

Mobile telephones
World-wide radio receivers
Satellite receivers of any kind
wireless Microphones
Walkie-talkies

portable television sets
remote controlled toys

 

During the flight, after the 'Fasten Seatbelt" signs have been extinguished, the following appliances are allowed.

 

CD- and Minidisk-Player
DAT-Recorder
Laptop-Computer with/without CD-ROM drive
Walkman
Tape recorder
Game Boys
Video camera/Camcorder
Calculators
